Miss Juggernaut

The mechanical doll roars to life,

Steam pouring out her glowing orange eyes,

Her name is Little Miss Juggernaut,

And she’s collecting blood debt on overdue lies…

Her claws are sickly sweet and coated in ochre,

Her metallic spine jerks itself into place,

To devour yet another errant ogre,

And her black snake tongue cleans her gory face…

Clicking like a deathwatch beetle hunting for a meal,

It moves through the crowd without a single wasted motion,

Its black streamers of hair catch the light with their razorblade edges,

Slicing open her bloody black ocean…

Its shrieks and creaks rattle the planet,

And the just all run and hide,

Safe inside their modest houses,

While the metal doll shoves the wicked into her unforgiving maw…

Only the guilty run, only the evil tried vainly to hide,

The innocent cowered before the Doll Machine’s judging eyes,

Only to be passed on, forgotten, in pursuit of fouler tides,

The monsters all bled that day, standing on quivering ammonia stained thighs…
